DING (Yin Fire) is the fourth Stem. Yin Fire is gentle, warm, and loving, a counterbalance to the intensity of Yang Fire.
Ding is correlated with the season of Zhong Xia 仲夏 Middle Summer, the height of the afternoon, and the prime of life, the direction of South, Trigram of Li Fire, the essence of touch, the heart, tongue, and mouth.
Represented as a candle, its power lies in drawing others to its warmth and brilliance, benefiting all those who stay long enough to seek its company.
Ding brings forth focus, discernment, adoring and exquisite attention. This is your time to turn your attention inwards and reflect on what areas you'd like to spark, spend time with, and intimately develop. Look at the candle and the subtle ways in which its energy waxes and wanes with time, its capacity to be extinguished as well as reignited, how it quietly observes its environment, ready to spark creativity and collaboration at any moment.
When Ding is healthy, we feel joy, connection, and sensuality. When Ding is weak, we lose touch and sensitivity, and we become emotionless, uncaring and cruel.
Learn how to trust yourself and others to allow for closeness. Deepening in intimacy and trust will allow your own brilliance to shine. You will attract the right people that match your pace and desires for life when you explore the depths within yourself.
In deep self-reflection or meditation, Ding is here to experience catharsis, break-through and release. As our all-knowing mystic and truth-sayer, we thank you for your heightened sensitivity, your ability to keep track of the finer details, and for coming back after each ego death stronger, brighter, wiser, and more capable of self love and trust.
Be like the candle, the spark, the resurrection. Know that the process requires ignition as well as annihilation. The cycles of life and death provoke your true essence.
